THE SOUTHERN STORY

Mr. A and Mr. B worked in engineering by day but both aspired to work in something they were passionate about. They started distilling in a garage in Carlton as Mr. B knew the craft well, having grown up in South Carolina and learning to distil before he could drive, teaching Mr. A the ropes along the way. One thing led to another and in 2015, secreted away in an unassuming South Melbourne warehouse, the story of their first distillery began. There, amidst the clang of copper and the hum of alembic stills hammered over tree stumps, they did what we like to call the Lord’s work – making hooch.

Our aim was to introduce Australians to the raw complexity of moonshine (or unaged grain spirit). It was a hard slog from the beginning, so we expanded our range with a number of successful liqueurs and white spirits that quickly took off.

Time has a way of shifting paths, and ours led us to a new chapter. Armed with the successes and failures from our previous distilleries, we ventured into our third self-built distillery in Melbourne’s eclectic inner north. Here, we forged a more efficient setup – a testament to our growth and grit.

In this new chapter, we’ve returned to our roots. We rebranded and reintroduced our signature sippin’ shine as our hero liquid. Strong in character and not to be trifled with, Apple Pie Shine from Melbourne Moonshine captures the true spirit of the American South. This authentic and unique drop is born from bespoke copper stills, now fired right here in our own South – the setting of our tale.
