Unique and easy to drink, Moonshine is as white as the light it takes its name from. It’s the liquor of the people, made in secret and infused with the rebellious spirit of the folk who have distilled it away from prying eyes for generations.
In a deal sealed with a handshake, the Misters who make Melbourne Moonshine source their corn straight from a Victorian farm. This local corn is used to create the sour ‘wash’ (the distillers’ beer loaded into the still) which provides the warm, sweet, strong kick of a true Southern white lightning merged with the clean, refined and utterly enjoyable drinkability of a modern Melburnian drop.
The taste is something so particular, warming your throat all the way to your belly, that you couldn’t forget it, even if you tried. This ain’t whiskey. This is moonshine.
Sweet Tea Shine is made using all Australia Grown Black Tea (the Tea is steeped in High Proof double distilled Moonshine). The tannins extracted from the tea infuse the Shine with a bold flavour easily adapted to many classic cocktails.
Sweet Tea Shine is also perfectly adaptable to your summer time punches. Try our version of an Arnold Palmer; 30ml Sweet Tea Shine, Lemon Juice, Peach Bitters, Sugar Syrup and Soda.
Also goes well with grapefruit soda.
The Melbourne Moonshine Single Cask series is our dedication to taking things a little bit slower and making things that bit more special. Its an aged Moonshine and depending on what cask release it is can be aged in Port, Sherry, Australian Wine or even beer barrels.
The first barrels to be release from the series have been aging for over 14 months.
Think rich, vanilla with hints of pepper spice… A Moonshine for serious whiskey drinkers.
Apple Pie Shine is a traditional ‘sippin’shine often enjoyed during the winter of Southern USA but can be as easily enjoyed the whole year.
The Melbourne Moonshine recipe uses triple distilled Moonshine and a blend of freshly juiced Apples and Spices.
The flavour of the Apple Pie Shine is delicious combination of succulent apple with hits of cinnamon and nutmeg.
The Apple Pie Shine can be enjoyed over ice or warmed/mulled.
For mixers we suggest the Capi Flaming Ginger.
